| Our Philosophy on Inspections |
We recognize that this is the home in which you will be living, that it is probably your most valuable asset and that it is an important investment. Our goal is to help you understand the condition of the house you are buying. We work for you alone and here is how:
Thorough Observations
All mechanical and structural systems are carefully and thoroughly inspected. (download an actual sample report for the full scope our inspection and to review the ASHI standards of practice). Our methods are such that the number one unsolicited
comment clients use to describe our inspections is “thorough”.
Technical Diagnostics
For any significant defects observed, every effort is made to track down the cause and provide options and recommendations for correction of the problem. Proper diagnostics require an understanding of the many systems in the home, use of diagnostic test equipment, and staying abreast of the latest construction techniques and equipment.
Communication and Documentation
Verbal reporting of observations, system descriptions, and routine maintenance are provided during the inspection, and a comprehensive, legible report specific to the home inspected is completed at the end. Our inspectors have excellent communication skills and are committed to taking the time necessary to explain issues as the inspection proceeds. Inspectors and office personnel are available to answer any questions you may have after receiving the report. |
|
| What to Expect |
|
The inspection can last anywhere from 2.5-4 hours
depending on the size of the house and the number of
issues. A townhouse inspection usually lasts about 2.5
hours, while a typical single family house takes about 3
hours. We
strongly encourage you to follow the inspector around to
learn how the house works, how to take care of it and
about any defects noted. This is also an invaluable
opportunity for you to ask questions. |
|
| Our Philosophy on Reports |
| Our reports are typically 12-15 pages long,
and are typically e-mailed or faxed within 24 hours. The entire report
is customized and relevant to your house.
