The Highland Team

The team consists of Rick Belliveau, Ellen Belliveau, Rainy Delaney, Barry Hoskins and Dan Doyle.

Rick Belliveau is the owner of Highland Home Inspections, Inc., which he began in 1989. He is a 1978 graduate of Clarkson University with a BS degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduating he served as an officer in the Navy on a nuclear submarine, having been interviewed by Hyman G. Rickover. After a five-year tour in the Navy he joined the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel where he worked for 13 years on a test and evaluation program for submarine launched ballistic missiles. Rick and his wife Ellen have four children. Rick is very involved at Columbia Presbyterian Church and enjoys theology, reading, movies and working on and outside their house. Having done this for 20 years, Rick has seen just about everything; however, his love for what he does enables him to approach each inspection with new interest and enthusiasm.

Ellen Belliveau serves as vice president of Highland Home Inspections, Inc. and heads up the marketing effort. In the beginning, she ran the office and was instrumental in the success of the fledgling business. She is a 1979 graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University with a degree in nursing, but has devoted her working years to raising a family and home-schooling four children. In 1984, after moving to this area from Charleston, she and Rick were on the team that founded the Shady Grove Pregnancy Center where Ellen served as executive director. Her interests are deep and wide including floral design, interior design, writing, reading, teaching English and the arts. She has her own floral design and home redesign business.

Rainy Delaney runs the office and has been with Highland Home Inspections, Inc. since 2007. She has extensive experience in the business world and has brought that experience to bear in this job. Rainy is responsive, friendly and intent on excellent customer service. She loves to golf, play racquetball and work around the house. Rainy serves as an Election Judge and continues to be involved in charity events hosted by Outback Steakhouse. She and her husband Patrick live in Ellicott City with their daughter.

Barry Hoskins has been with Highland Home Inspections, Inc. for eight years and is our most senior inspector after Rick. He is highly respected and sought after by many realtors and referrals from previous clients. Barry was formerly an art teacher at River Hill High School. He is a great outdoorsman with experience in all kinds of outdoor sports including biking, camping and white water canoeing and rafting. His interests and knowledge are so wide and varied that everyone finds something in common with him. Barry’s teaching experience makes him an exceptional inspector with first-time home buyers. He is our go-to guy when it comes to identifying what type of animal might have been in a house based on what it left behind. Barry and his wife Linda live in Carroll County and have two children.

Daniel J. Doyle has been with Highland Home Inspections, Inc. since March of 2007 after serving a four-year tour in the U.S. Marine Corps where he was a diesel mechanic. Daniel is a “hands-on” guy and his enthusiasm is infectious. He is currently continuing his military service with the U.S. Navy Reserves in a Construction Battalion as an Utilitiesman and, through their training, is certified to work as an H.V.A.C. and plumbing technician. Dan loves the construction field and current events; his undergraduate degree is in political science from Frostburg State University. He and his wife Megan have three outstanding children and live in Frederick, Maryland.
